Now that we are well and truly into 2018 and we’ve already talked you through some of the broader trends for 2018, there are some trends that we've seen cropping up over the past 3 months that we can’t get enough of! Here we are on the brink of spring, and what better a time than now than to embrace some of the best trends that 2018 has to offer? Half Painted Walls

There is no denying the transformative effects that paint can have on any space, but painting an entire space can seem like an awful lot of work! Over the past few months we’ve been seeing this really unique technique peppered all over the internets top interiors blogs as well as all over our Instagam  feeds and we think its genius! This half painted look not only creates a contemporary, fresh and almost architectural vibe in your space, but you spend less money on paint and use less of your precious time. What’s not to love?! 

Black is Back!

In the world of fashion, black never goes out of style and we’re hoping that from now on this can be true of the Interiors world too! Sleek, dark and the epitome of chic, black is making a comeback in home furnishings and we couldn’t be happier about it! We aren’t talking about painting all of your walls black and embracing the dark side, we’re thinking gorgeous accessories, patterns and even statement pieces of furniture paired with gorgeous metal accents to really make your home ‘pop’ . Think dining tables, coffee tables and even soft furnishings offset buy scatterings of gold and silver accents for a luxurious but never stuffy feel. 

Mixing Textiles

Potentially our favourite trend of 2018 so far is the way in which front runners in the interior design world are mixing textures in the home to create incredible depth and a certain artful appeal that brings any space smack bang up to date. Think pairing the industrial with the rustic in the form of cool metals with natural or painted woods, or even mixing different woods - new wood, hardwoods, softwoods, dark, light, natural. One glorious example of this trend is of course everyone’s favourite, our Calia Dining table which pairs natural American white oak with a welded steel frame or if  you want to bring this textural depth into the living room, how about dumping the 3 piece suite in favour of mixing and matching plush velvet and buttery leather sofas?

Geometric Patterns

Okay, so geometrics have been done and done again in 2017, but hear us out! 2018 puts a different spin on the geometric trend taking it from being contained in the world of accessories ( a la 2017) and brining it up to date by using it in tiles, wallpapers and prints. Use a geometric patterned rug, incorporate it into your art collection, use it on floor tile or even as a kitchen backsplash, these patters create a strong, structural and sleek aesthetic that may not be for the fainthearted, but wow does it make for a show stopping space!
